This covers dansugc.com and the DansUGC Creator iOS app. It explains what we collect, why we need it, who we pass it to, and how to get it back or deleted. If anything here is unclear, email us and a human will answer.
DansUGC (“we”) operates dansugc.com and the DansUGC Creator iOS app, a marketplace connecting brands with user-generated content creators. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at dan@dansugcmodels.com.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Email address and name | To create your account, sign you in, and contact you about your work. | Until you delete your account. |
| Creator profile — photo, country, city, languages, equipment, social links, phone number | So brands can find you and we can match you to the right orders. | Until you delete your account. |
| Videos and photos you upload — portfolio clips, order deliverables, B-roll, package clips | To deliver your work to the client who ordered it, and to sell B-roll attributed to you. | Delivered work is retained for the client's licence. Undelivered drafts are deleted with your account. |
| Orders and messages | To run the job: the brief, the deadline, and your conversation with the client. | Seven years, as accounting records. |
| Payout details — Stripe account, Revolut tag, or Wise account and billing address | To pay you. We never see your card or bank credentials when you use Stripe; Stripe holds those. | Seven years, as accounting records. |
| Device token for push notifications | So we can tell you about a new order, a close deadline, or a client reply. | Until you sign out, turn notifications off, or delete the app. |
| Support messages, with your app version and device model | So we can answer without asking you which phone you're on. | Two years. |
Our legal basis is performance of our contract with you (running the marketplace and paying you), our legitimate interest in keeping the service working and secure, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.
Only the clips you pick are read, and only when you tap to add them. We never browse your library.
Only if you choose to film inside the app rather than picking an existing clip.
Optional. Used for new orders, deadline reminders and client replies — never marketing.
Clients see the work you deliver, your public creator profile, and your messages on their order. They never see your payout details, your email address, or your other orders.
We use these processors to run the service. Each handles only what it needs, under contract:
| Supabase | Database, authentication and file access control |
| Cloudflare | Hosting, and R2 storage for your videos and photos |
| Stripe | Payouts to creators and payments from clients |
| Autosend | Transactional and marketing email |
| Apple | Push notifications to your iPhone |
| Optional sign-in, if you choose it | |
| PostHog and Umami | Website and product analytics |
| Railway | Video processing — thumbnails, previews, compression |
Some of these operate outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
On the website we record how you found us — the page you landed on, the site that referred you, and any advertising click identifier present in the link. We use it to understand which channels bring creators and clients to us, and it is attached to your signup record.
The iOS app does none of this. It collects no advertising identifiers and performs no tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency.
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or object to it being used. You can also withdraw consent where we relied on it. We respond within 30 days and it costs nothing.
In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes your creator profile and cancels anything active. Work already delivered to a client stays with them under the licence they bought, and we keep the minimum required for accounting.
Email dan@dansugcmodels.com. If you are in the UK or EEA and think we have got it wrong, you can complain to your data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
Access to creator data is restricted at the database level, so one creator cannot read another's orders, messages or earnings. Our support team can view a creator's account to help with a problem; that access is read-only and every session is logged against the staff member who opened it.
DansUGC is not for children. You must be 18 or over to create an account. If we learn we hold data on someone under 18, we delete it.
If we change this policy materially we will email you before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
A person reads every one of these.
